Installation and local help

Our systems are designed for straightforward installation. Stage One takes around 10 minutes to install, depending on your setup. Read the instructions fully before cutting hose, mounting components or making connections.

Before you install

  • Check the dimensions, voltage, fittings and flow rate on the page for your exact model. Leave room for connections and filter changes.
  • Confirm the mounting position, water source and hose route. Stage One needs an auxiliary priming pump when installed more than one metre above the waterline.
  • Stage Two has no pump. Install it after your existing onboard pump or accumulator. Do not use the Stage One pump to drive Stage Two.
  • Arrange any non-standard fittings or custom plumbing with us before ordering.
  • Follow the flushing and commissioning instructions, protect the system from frost and check for leaks after installation or maintenance.

Earlier versions may have different pumps or fittings. If you're unsure, send us the model, water source and a photo of your setup so we can help.

Having a problem? Go to troubleshooting

Replacement intervals are a guide. Dirtier water and heavier use can mean more frequent changes. Follow the instructions for your model and don't wait for the flow to stop completely.

  • Stage One: the existing guide is approximately 1,500–2,000 litres, depending on the water source. Individual cartridges may need changing at different times.
  • Stage Two: typically every 4–8 months.
  • FinalStage RO PCT carbon filter: every 9–12 months.
  • FinalStage RO membrane: every 1–3 years, depending on source water and use.
  • Offgrid Rain: follow the replacement guidance for the cartridges fitted to your unit; source quality and use determine their life.

As a rough annual consumables guide, canal setups have typically cost £60–£170 and rainwater setups £40–£80. These figures exclude electricity and paid installation or servicing. Your actual cost can be higher with heavy use or dirtier water.

Stage One, Stage Two and Rain use standard cartridge formats, but the right cartridge combination still matters. Match replacements to your model and source, and check the pump type and voltage before ordering replacement parts.

Troubleshooting

These checks can help identify the cause. Use the customer guide for your model's full instructions, or contact us if you need help.

Low flow, spluttering or air in the water

Check whether filters are due for replacement, then inspect the inlet hose, pickup, seals and connections for restrictions or air leaks. Make sure the inlet is submerged and the system is primed as described in your instructions.

Don't keep running a pump against blocked filters or without water. Contact us if the cause isn't clear.

The pump stops or won't build pressure

Switch it off before inspecting the setup. Check the water supply, inlet connections and filter condition, and confirm that the pump has the correct electrical supply. Only carry out electrical checks you are competent to do.

Follow the priming instructions for your model. If it still won't work, send us a photo of the pump label and a short video of the problem. Don't let the pump run dry.

A leak

Switch the system off, isolate the water supply and release pressure before opening a housing or fitting, following your model's instructions. Check housings, seals and connections.

If a component appears damaged, send us a photo. After any adjustment or filter change, check the complete installation for leaks before leaving it in use.

A faulty, damaged or missing part

Let us know your order number and which part is affected. Include photos of the part and packaging if it arrived damaged. We'll help identify what's needed and get it resolved.

Water quality isn't as expected

Check your source, treatment setup, filter condition and tank hygiene. If you suspect the water is unsafe, stop using it for drinking or cooking and use a known safe supply while the cause is checked.

Contact us with details of the source and installation, along with any water test results.

Need a hand?

Send your order number, model, water source and a short description of what's happening. Photos of the installation or a short video can help us get to the answer faster.
